Candidates come from the names in our news and social feeds plus the most actively traded stocks of the session, across every market cap.
A live quote sweep decides which of them are genuinely moving; a dollar-volume floor keeps thin single prints off the list. Outside regular hours a name is judged on its live pre-market or after-hours print, not on yesterday's close.
Reason lines prefer a headline naming the company from the last day, then a scheduled catalyst, then a factual reading of the move and volume.
